The US Department of Health and Human Services
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awards approximately $500 billion annually in grants and cooperative agreements to grant recipients. The complex nature of HHS grant-making capabilities provides ReInvent Grants Management (RGM) the opportunity to improve and streamline processes in the grants management lifecycle, particularly in the grant recipient evaluation process. With this in mind, RGM engaged grant stakeholders (including recipients) to define user needs and develop the Grant-Recipient Digital Dossier (GDD) utilizing emerging technology. The GDD consolidates and displays grant recipient information from government data sources in a meaningful and consumable manner. As a result, the GDD reduces the time and effort grantors invest in performing the required pre-award risk assessment through an efficient approach that creates a baseline and transparency that promotes trust within the grants community.
